Accent Walls – How To Knock Them Out Of The Park

Accent walls are a great way to make a room pop. They’re easy to install, easy to change and add color or texture. Many people overthink accent walls, but they are actually super easy to pull off!

Here’s the deal: We don’t all have time (or money) for a full-on renovation project in our homes. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still create an upscale look with some simple updates—like a new paint job or wallpaper installation—that will have you feeling like you’ve stepped into a totally new space.

An accent wall is exactly what it sounds like: one (or more) of your walls that stands out from the others because of its color or pattern. It’s not just for rooms with vaulted ceilings! Anytime you add something special to one wall in an otherwise neutral setting, it will visually draw attention away from less interesting areas while creating visual interest of its own.”

First and foremost, you need to figure out where you want your accent wall to be. Ask yourself these questions:
1. Does the room’s shape, size and layout make it more suitable for a single focal point? Or multiple ones?
2. Would a focal point help balance out any awkward features in the room’s design?
3. How much natural light is available in this space? Is it enough to create mood through color (or vice versa)?
4. What do I want my room to say about me and my lifestyle? Do I want it to feel modern or traditional? Do I want it to look lived-in or sleekly designed? Are there any other things I can do with this space – like add furniture or decor – that will enhance its purpose for me and my family members over time as well as now?

When it comes to accent walls, the possibilities are endless! You can use any of the following materials: paint, wallpaper, wallpaper paste or tiles. Whatever you choose will determine how your accent wall will look.

Paint colors: Black, white and gray are all considered neutral colors that most people choose when they’re going for an accent wall in their home. However other options include blue, red, yellow and orange—but not purple! Purple is too eccentric for an accent wall unless you’re trying to create a bold statement in your room.

Tiles: Tile has been around since ancient times and even today most people still prefer it over anything else because it adds personality to any space without overpowering it. It’s also very easy to clean if something spills on it accidentally making cleaning up after dinner parties much easier.

We know what you’re thinking. Sounds like a lot of planning, right? Well…it doesn’t have to be!
